Rabbi Aaron Lopiansky

Rabbi Aaron Lopiansky is the Rosh Hayeshiva of Yeshiva of Greater Washington – Tiferes Gedaliah. Rabbi Lopiansky learned for decades at the Mir Yerushalayim, and he continues the mesorah of his rebbeim Harav Chaim Shmuelevitz zt”l, Harav Nachum Partzovitz zt”l, and his father-in-law, Harav Beinish Finkel zt”l (the late Rosh Hayeshiva of the Mir).

His approach to learning was also deeply influenced by his long association as a close talmid of Harav Moshe Shapiro zt”l. Rabbi Lopiansky is the author of several Hebrew sefarim as well as Time Pieces, an English-language collection of essays about the Jewish holidays.

Vaad on Tefillah

This vaad on Tefillah is given in Yeshiva Gedolah of Greater Washington. In the first few vaadim, R’ Aaron goes through some fundamental concepts of tefillah. Afterwards, he begins to go through the actual siddur (beginning with Shemonah Esrei and working his way backwards).

Although cutoff by Covid-19, this is an ongoing vaad which will hopefully resume very soon. So make sure to subscribe to get the latest vaadim as they are published.

Even Shleima (Gra)

The Sefer Even Shleima is famously difficult to learn. Based on the teachings of the Vilna Gaon, the sefer is very concise and a collection of the Gra’s commentary from many other places.

In this new series, R’ Aaron goes through Even Shleima focusing on the words of the Gra from where the sefer is based.

This new series is given over Zoom to alumni of Machon Yaakov as a zchus for a refuah sheleima for Chizkiyahu Mattisyahu Yered ben Miriam.

In this series, R’ Aaron learns through the sefer Likutei Amarim/Tanya.
