Torah Rashi intertextuality

A weekly journey into the depth and precision of Rashi’s commentary on the Torah.

Whenever Rashi quotes or references a verse from elsewhere in Tanach, we follow that reference back to its original context and study Rashi’s commentary there as well. By placing these Rashis side by side—comparing language, context, and interpretation—we allow Rashi to illuminate Rashi.

Through this intertextual approach, we uncover connections across Torah and Tanach, clarify difficult passages, compare and contrast seemingly different explanations, and address apparent contradictions within Rashi.

Rather than studying each Rashi in isolation, we seek to see the larger picture: how Rashi’s commentary in one place can unlock his meaning somewhere else.

Each weekly episode focuses on the Parsha and explores how Rashi’s own words throughout Tanach can deepen our understanding of his commentary on the Torah.
