YGW Bais Medrash

The Yeshiva of Greater Washington-Tiferes Gedaliah [YGW] was founded in 1963 by a visionary group of scientists and professionals who believed that by combining top-notch Torah study with a cutting edge general education we ensure a strong Jewish future. In 1995 an accredited Yeshiva Gedolah/Talmudic College program was started that offers a Bachelors of Talmudic Law. This was followed in 1997 by the formation of our Kollel Zichron Amram. Today, more than 270 students are enrolled in both the Middle and High School divisions and the Talmudic College serves students from all over the world.

Shiurim from the YGW Bais Midrash are given by our Rosh HaYeshiva Rav Ahron Lopiansky, shlit”a, and our Rosh Kollel Rav Eliyahu Reingold, shlit”a. Rabbi Lopiansky is a talmid of the Mir Yerushalayim, and he continues the mesorah of his rebbeim Harav Chaim Shmuelevitz zt”l, Harav Nachum Partzovitz zt”l, and his father-in-law, Harav Beinish Finkel zt”l (the late Rosh Hayeshiva of the Mir). Rabbi Reingold is a talmid of the Telshe Yeshiva and Kollel where along with the Telshe mesorah, he absorbed fire, zeal, and a responsibility for the community from his Roshei Yeshiva.
